Himalayan Serow
●The Himalayan serow, or Capricornis sumatraensis thar, is restricted to the Himalayan region.
●A biologist has decribed a Himalayan serow as resembling a cross between a goat, a donkey, a cow, and a pig.
●Himalayan serows are herbivores, and are typically found at altitudes between 2,000 metres and 4,000 metres.
●They are known to be found in eastern, central, and western Himalayas, but not in the Trans Himalayan region.

CMS-01
●CMS-01 is communication satellite designed and developed by the Indian Space Research Organisation.
●This satellite will be the replacement of aged satellite GSAT-12.
●This satellite will be launched by Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle XL C50.
●It will provide improved telecom services for Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep.
●Also will provide telecommunication services including television, tele-education, tele-medicine, and disaster management support.
●The 1,410-kg CMS-01 satellite will provide services in the Extended-C band of the frequency spectrum.

Spectrum Auction
●A spectrum auction is a process whereby a government uses an auction system to sell the rights to transmit signals over specific bands of the electromagnetic spectrum and to assign scarce spectrum resources.
●In India, the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) conducts auctions of licenses for electromagnetic spectrum.
●Successful bidders will also have to pay 3% of the Adjusted Gross Revenue (AGR) excluding wireline services as spectrum usage charges for the spectrum won through this auction.

Zaid crops
●Zaid crops are summer season crops. They grow in long time period mainly from March to June.
●They require warm dry weather as major growth period and longer day length for flowering. The time between kharif crops and rabi.
●These crops mature early. Cucumber, pumpkin, bitter gourd, and watermelon are zaid crops.

Doha Development Round
●Also called as Doha Development Agenda (DDA) is the trade negotiation round of the World Trade Organization (WTO) which commenced in November 2001.
● Its objective was to lower trade barriers around the world, and thus facilitate increased global trade.
●The aim was to put less developed countries’ priorities at heart.
